Volunteers

Our Lady of the Angels Catholic School Volunteer Clearances Our Lady of the Angels Catholic School in conjunction with the Diocese of Harrisburg is required to update our Volunteer policies to accommodate the PA Child Protective Service Laws.

The Commonwealth of PA has substantially expanded upon the definition of who is considered a mandated reporter, an individual who has a legal duty to report suspected child abuse. Based on the state regulations and diocesan policy, all Adult Volunteers who provide care, supervision, guidance or control and have routine interaction with children now classified as mandated reporters responsible for the welfare of children (individuals under the 18 years of age).

All current volunteer must complete their new training by June 30th.

To begin this process log on to www.hbgdiocese.org/safeyouth

  • Select Clearances and Criminal Record Checks
    Select “all other employees and volunteers”
  • Click PA State Police criminal History check. Volunteers are free.
    Follow instructions and print 2 copies of the certificate (1 for you and 1 for school)
  • Click on Pa Child Abuse History Check – Childline/DHS Volunteers are free.
    Follow instructions and print 2 copies of the certificate (1 for you and 1 for school)
  • Complete Volunteer Disclosure Statement (1061) (1 copy for school)
  • Click on On-Line Training Course (Print 1 copy of the certificate for school)

All 4 items are to be submitted to the office together. Volunteer badges are currently on Hold due to demand.

  1. PA State Police Criminal History check (certificate not receipt)
  2. PA Child Abuse History Check
  3. Volunteer Disclosure statement
  4. On-Line Training Course certificate.
